In a recent U.S. News and World report, more than 90 percent of adults who developed a substance use disorder or addiction began during their teen years, mainly before they were 18. What can be perceived as an innocent use of e-cigarettes, Adderall, and other prescription drugs puts teens at a much greater risk for fatal consequences.
According to the 2014 Monitoring the Future Survey, there is a decline in teens abusing certain substances; however, there are still a disturbing trends relating to teen drug abuse.
